Floor Assistant (Barback & Runner)

National Mechanics is a popular and bustling bar and restaurant located in the heart of Old City, Philadelphia. Known for our welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, draft beer selection and craft cocktails. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service to our diverse clientele.
We are seeking a dedicated and hard-working person to join our team. Presently, we have an opening for Saturdays (runner, 9a-4:30p) and Sundays (runner, 9a-4p). This role is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant and supporting our staff in providing top-notch service.
Responsibilities:
- Assist bartenders with stocking and replenishing bar supplies (ice, glassware, garnishes, etc.)
- Ensure bar areas are clean and organized at all times
- Clear and clean tables in the bar area, maintaining cleanliness standards
- Help with inventory management, including restocking shelves and fridges
- Support the floor team during busy periods by running food and drinks
- Handle glassware washing and basic prep work as needed
- Follow all health and safety guidelines
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting is a plus but not required; we’re willing to train
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- Availability to work weekends and evenings
