Kured Catering Manager

Kured is the a charcuterie catering company, offering on-demand charcuterie boards, small plates, and sandwiches. We have storefronts in Boston and New York City.
As we evolve our concept in NYC, we realize that catering is a major segment of our business. Therefore, we are looking for a Catering Manager to help support this growing demand! The role is full time, and requires flexibility contingent on rolling catering orders that come in during the week. From day 1, it will primarily focus on prep and fulfillment of large volume orders. The ideal candidate leads enthusiastically, excels in a fast-paced work environment, is well-organized, and will be responsible for providing an exceptional experience for our catering clients.
Technical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Store-Level Work:
- Catering Prep & Fulfillment
- Create prep lists nightly for next days prep requirements - communicate to team members
- Organize daily and weekly schedules to ensure orders are made promptly.
- Facilitate order deliveries through third-party platforms and within the Kured staff
- Coordinate with the owner to order proper amounts of product for weekly orders.
- Serve as a face of the Kured brand at offsite events including grazing tables and classes.
- Manage extra staffing as needed based on order volume.
Corporate Level Work Weekly Deliverables & Goals:
- Catering Inbound Sales
- Respond to inbound leads via Zendesk in a timely manner and coordinate their orders for them
- Sending follow up “how did we do?” emails to clients that you closed the day-after events
- Catering Outbound Sales
- Develop new business relationships by creating an outbound strategy by industry segment (this can happen starting in mid-to-late September in preparation for holiday season)
- On the first of each month, send “touchbase” emails to our “priority customers” (customers that have spent > $1000 with us) asking their monthly catering needs
- Product & Marketing
- Seasonally brainstorming new menu items (i.e summer board) and communicating to owner
- Contributing to weekly content creation by letting owner know what you want her to promote for the week in NYC on the catering front
Expectations:
- Food / Beverage Industry experience
- Ownership mentality…you own the catering division
- Dedicated…we will not tolerate lateness or low-effort work
- Scheduling per week:
- Generally, Tuesday-Saturday, 8-hour days (40 hours per week).
- Schedule will not be 9-5…will most likely be around schedule of orders, this includes some early mornings (6am)
- Time-off:
- 10 days of paid vacation per year during mutually agreed upon times, submitted and approved by owner at a minimum of 1 month in advance
- You are also entitled to your New York State Safe and Sick Leave, which accrues throughout the calendar year at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, with a max of 5 days per calendar year.
- Any personal or additional time off must be submitted a minimum of 1 month in advance and approved by owner
- This additional time off may be paid or unpaid subject to written approval by owner
- You will not be compensated for any unused paid time off, regardless of situation
- or if terminated voluntarily or involuntarily.
Compensation:
- Two options:
- Option #1: $45k base + 1.5% commission on catering sales (paid out monthly)
- Equates to about $50k / year all-in - based on our yearly projections
- Option #2: $40k base + 3% commission on catering sales (paid out monthly)
- Equates to about $50k / year all-in - we expect this to continue increasing year over year as we do more catering business
