OBJECTIVE
We are currently seeking an energetic and driven individual to join our team as the General Manager of Bar Blondeau at Wythe Hotel. Located on the 6th floor, Bar Blondeau offers panoramic views of New York City. We are seeking someone special to lead our bar and take it to a world-class level. Bar Blondeau, opened in 2021, inspired by our favorite hotel bars from around the world and aims to contribute to the conversation of time well spent.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Fosters an environment of generosity, focus, kindness, and discipline among all staff
- Is dogmatic about steps of service for every position on the floor
- Prioritizes the highest quality of training for new team members at every level.
- Anticipates both guests and staff's needs
- Works in close collaboration with the Controller to ensure that all costs and revenue are being managed within the budget/guidelines with timely reporting for Bar Blondeau
- Oversees the processing of payroll, ensuring the labor cost is accurate and up to date and employees are fully paid.
- Has a close working relationship with the reservations team and is constantly engaged with managing the guest book and Resy.
- Conducts timely employee performance evaluations to nurture talent, build the team, and further a positive working environment with the service director.
- Works closely with the front desk team to create memorable and lasting experiences for guests staying at the hotel
- Is obsessive with sanitary procedures, dining room cleanliness, uniform standards, food handling, and general maintenance.
- Ensures guest experience. Responds to complaints, taking any appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into repeat guests
- Builds trust with chef, service director, and Managing partners. Collaborates and communicates guest needs and is an ambassador of Bar Blondeau and Wythe Holes' values.
- Is physically present on the floor
- Direct hiring, supervision, development, and, when necessary, termination of employees
- Enforces disciplinary action when needed with a focus on positive and constructive feedback
Knowledge, Experience, and skills:
- Minimum 3 years of GM experience in operating a full-service bar or lounge with a proven record of success
- Ability to manage multiple tasks such as controlling food, beverage, and labor costs while maintaining the standards of the restaurant
- Possess strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to manage a diverse team that supports the advancement of culture, excellence, and respect

- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills through the ability to diagnose and develop solutions.
- Team development and training, POS systems, Classic cocktails, conflict resolution and responsible scheduling
