Position: Executive Chef de Cuisine
Description:
We are seeking an exceptional Executive Chef de Cuisine to lead our renowned Latin American and Asian restaurant in NYC. This prestigious restaurant, acclaimed with 3 NYT stars, is looking for an experienced culinary leader with a proven track record to elevate our dining experience.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive culinary management in two or more NYT-starred restaurants.
- Operational Knowledge: Expertise in labor management, cost control, inventory, and purchasing.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor, and guide a culinary team, including an Executive Sous Chef and Junior Sous Chef.
- Self-Motivation: Strong drive to build a cohesive team and achieve outstanding results.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, labor tracking software, and POS systems.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Certification: Valid DOH Food Handler’s Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Latin American cuisine
- Experience with Japanese cuisine
- Proficiency in Spanish
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Conduct weekly food inventory and invoice reconciliation with the help of a Sous Chef
- Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with food vendors and oversee daily food ordering and preparation.
- Team Leadership: Lead hiring efforts, train new team members, and ensure adherence to the highest standards.
- Quality Control: Maintain exceptional quality in ingredient selection, preparation, and plating. Conduct daily line checks to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Compliance: Ensure all DOH standards are met and the kitchen is always prepared for an "A" rating.
- Cost Management: Track labor and food costs to meet annual targets.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and variable schedules based on business needs.

Compensation: Salary ($90,000.00 - $95,000.00)
