Exciting times ahead here at Aqua Restaurant Group, as we are opening a dual new restaurant in NYC this year - the biggest restaurant opening of 2024 in The Big Apple

With the Italian fleur, we will be opening a restaurant with the freshest produce from Italy, vibrant & buzzy atmosphere with live DJs in the evening & weekend brunches as well as a Japanese restaurant with lots of cocktail choices

We are looking for a passionate and innovative Junior Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen and create unforgettable Japanese dining experiences. Join us in launching a brand-new restaurant and bring your expertise and creativity to the forefront of NYC’s food scene!

Primary Objective:

Step into the heart of our kitchen and assist the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in delivering top-notch culinary experiences. Your role will ensure we maintain the highest food quality while keeping costs in check and boosting guest satisfaction and profitability. All operations will align with Aqua's esteemed guidelines, our departmental business plan, and the unique service concepts of Aqua.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control: Assist in maintaining the highest food quality by supporting the Executive Head Chef across all kitchen operations.
  • Standards Adherence: Follow Aqua’s strict standards for food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation.
  • Operational Readiness: Ensure all stations are properly staffed and fully stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Precision in Service: Monitor seasonings, portions, and presentation to maintain impeccable food service standards.
  • Waste Minimization: Store unused food correctly to minimize waste and maximize quality.
  • Budget Management: Assist with budgetary and payroll expense control as needed.
  • Team Coordination: Work closely with the team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of dishes while maintaining top-notch quality.
  • Inventory Management: Support the Head Chef in checking and ordering fresh produce and dry storage items.
  • Staff Engagement: Lead by example to boost staff morale and retention. Conduct staff inductions and on-the-job training, adhering to company standards.

  • Deeply Rooted Traditions: Embrace the rich traditions of Italian cuisine, incorporating regional specificities and respecting the authenticity of each dish.
