Role Overview

We are seeking an innovative Executive Dim Sum Chef for an exciting new restaurant concept.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and refine dim sum menu, ensuring a balance of traditional and innovative dishes.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to create seasonal and special event menus.
  • Ensure all dishes are consistent in quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Lead, train, and mentor the dim sum culinary team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient and effective workflow.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene.
  • Conduct regular inspections of ingredients, kitchen equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source the freshest and highest quality ingredients.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage procurement to ensure availability of necessary ingredients.
  • Control food costs and minimize waste through efficient inventory management.
  • Interact with guests to gather feedback and ensure a memorable dining experience.
  • Address any guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and a commitment to resolution.
  • Continuously strive to enhance the overall guest experience through culinary innovation and excellence.
  • Assist in developing and managing the dim sum department budget.
  • Monitor food costs and labor expenses, implementing cost-saving measures where applicable.
  • Analyze financial performance and adjust strategies to achieve financial goals.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging culinary techniques.
  • Experiment with new recipes and cooking methods to keep the dim sum menu fresh and exciting.
  • Attend culinary workshops, seminars, and events to continuously enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years prior in Executive Chef role
  • Food Protection Certification
  • Proficient in technology applications: POS Systems, Scheduling Platform, purchasing and inventory management software
  • Ability to communicate at a high level, professionally
  • Ability to work Weekends and Nights

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($90,000.00 - $120,000.00)
