Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our Petit Pomeroy culinary team. With at least 2 years of fine dining experience, you will perform advanced cooking procedures under the direct supervision of the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, and/or Sous Chef. The Cook will operate a specific station, ensuring that all food is prepared according to our high standards and departmental practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using various kitchen equipment.
  • Follow methods of food preparation, cooking techniques, and portion sizing as prescribed by the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, and/or Sous Chef.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation, using fresh and superior ingredients.
  • Package, wrap, and price products for retail sale as needed.
  • Operate all kitchen stations as required and adhere to health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of culinary experience in fine dining establishments.
  • Prior experience in customer service is preferred.
  • ServeSafe Food Handlers certification required.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective during high volume service and difficult situations.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in a kitchen environment for extended periods.
  • Occasionally climb and descend stairs, and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in tight spaces and with various kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and reaching.
