Job Description: Assistant General Manager
The Assistant General Manager position at COOKBOOK MARKET is expected to accomplish the following:
- Arrive and leave on time, and clock in/out accordingly
- Dress appropriately every day for work.
- Work closely with GM on creating relationships with all guests and providing a welcoming environment through guest interactions at the front door and via e-mail or phone correspondence.
- Assist GM with oversight and maintenance of the COOKBOOK MARKET email address
- Assist GM with overseeing, maintaining and updating the COOKBOOK MARKET website & DD Marketplace, as needed
- Assist GM as point of contact for any DD issues
- Train and master ordering, organizing, stocking and all elements of the FOH space.
- Oversee organization and maintenance of cleanliness and ensure shelves and display cases are stocked in the FOH space
- Daily pre-shift meetings
- Understand and manage labor, OT and break penalties and costs in the market, including receiving product, entering. invoices, overseeing inventories and daily spending.
- Review labor daily and to ensure GM can properly run payroll for all hourly employees
- Develop a good working knowledge of the financial aspects of the restaurant including the PCL, Petty Cash Sheet, Inventory documents and Inventory Reporting
- Communicate all challenges that arise on a daily basis with appropriate supervisors and problem solve together.
- Ensure a hospitable experience for all guests and maintain high guest satisfaction.
- Able to thoughtfully describe all store items and use this knowledge to provide suggestions to guests.
- Check out customers at the register, as needed, ensuring that all items have been rung in properly and all items are packed for the customer.
- Maintain food log throughout the day to ensure that all savory counter foods are properly logged.
- Upkeeping and understanding high standards for food quality control to uphold Food Safety Standards
- Upkeeping Sanitation and Cleaning standards following procedures and using proper checklists
- Respecting the facility - picking up trash, cleaning up after yourself, taking the initiative to clean, letting appropriate supervisors know if anything is in disrepair.
- Oversee and ensure all opening and closing checklists are done properly
- Working with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment and work in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain positive, team-oriented, respectful mentality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary ($68,000.00 - $75,000.00)
