Chef/Author/Mentor/Restauranteur, Daniel Boulud is searching for Sous Chefs to join the opening team. Café Boulud is inspired by Daniel Boulud’s four culinary muses: la tradition, classic French cuisine; la saison, seasonal delicacies; le potager, the vegetable garden; and le voyage, flavors of world cuisine. Having earned three stars in the New York Times as well as a star in the Michelin Guide, Café Boulud is both a destination and a neighborhood gem for casually elegant dining seasonal wine tasting dinners, Sunday brunch and intimate, private events.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise the production of food at all stations, assisting the cooks when needed
- Support the Executive Chef in maintainig a smooth and efficient service
- Order and Inspect for quality all food items necessary for the production of the finished menu items
- Maintain kitchen equipment following food & safety/restaurant standards of cleanliness and organization
- Track food costs as requested
- Ensure that employees keep waste to a minimum
- Recognize the importance of employee morale and lead by example
Previous supervisory role and a culinary training degree preferred. Verbal English, French and/or Spanish proficiency are a plus.
The ideal candidate must possess superb communication skills along with a positive attitude and provide structure in a team environment with a strong work ethic and adherence to food safety protocol. This position is full-time and salary based.

- Ability to work with minimal supervision, accomplish tasks without direct instruction, and problem solve for the best solutions
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages
- Actively practice food safety procedures
- Able to train and motivate team

- Ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner, which is accurate, complete, and of high quality
- Establish client relationships and ensuring maximum satisfaction

Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary ($70,000.00 - $75,000.00)
