Mikami is an authentic Japanese Izakaya & Ramen restaurant, open its first location at Southloop of Chicago. We are looking for passionate servers, host, and bussers/food runners to join us.
Bartender Responsibilities:
- 2 to 3 years experience as a bartender in a high-volume restaurant environment.
- Ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and build relationships with guests while encouraging regulars.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both with guests and team members.
- Serve guests as part of a team by anticipating their needs, initiating conversation, offering assistance and advice.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both front and back of the house.
- Exceptional food, wine, cocktail offerings and service knowledge and the ability to learn new food and menu items.
- Passion to learn and participate in daily food and beverage training.
- Ability to maintain a clean working environment.
- Must pass general information and food and beverage quizzes.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- ServSafe and BASSETT/TIPS Certified.
- Night and weekend availability is required.
Server Responsibilities:
- We love Team Work, creating a positive work environment
- Uphold the Mikami values and mission while performing responsibilities. Warmly welcome guests and provide recommendations from our menu.
- Take orders and ensure timely delivery of dishes and drinks. Collaborate seamlessly with our kitchen team. Communicate with manager(s), kitchen staff, and bartenders
- Maintain the inviting ambiance of our restaurant. Address guest inquiries and go the extra mile to ensure satisfaction. Respond positively to guest's requests with a sense of urgency
- Inform guests of specials, menu changes, answer questions regarding food, beverages and allergies
- Presents, open and pours wine and beer when serving guests
- Report to work timely, presentable, and in proper uniform
- Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant at all times
- Perform other job related activities as required or assigned by the manager
Requirements:
- Previous serving experience is valued but not required.
- A warm and welcoming demeanor.
- Effective communication and team-player mentality.
- Availability for evening and weekend shifts.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with attention to details.
Host Responsibilty:
- Be able to assigned customer to a most appropriate seats available.
- Greet guests with a genuine, welcoming demeanor, Be warm, knowledgeable and noticeably appreciative. Accommodate guests by making each individual feel welcome
- Act professionally and always maintain composure
- Identify and report problems to management immediately
Busser/Runner Responsibilities:
- team work with Host, Waisters & Kitchen staffs
- Setting up tables with the appropriate guidelines
- Setting up candles on the tables.
- Detailing all tables before the start of service to ensure place settings are neat and organized.
- Run food to each tables
- Clearing tables between each course.
- Clearing and re-setting tables for new guests.
