Job Title: Executive Chef

Salary Range: $100-120k

Location: Los Angeles, CA - San Fernando Valley

Summary:

We are seeking an accomplished chef with a background in upscale dining to join our team as Executive Chef. In this role, you will oversee kitchen operations, focusing on menu enhancement, maintaining food quality, and collaborating closely with restaurant management to ensure seamless service. Upholding a safe and hygienic work environment is paramount, and you will be responsible for enforcing safety and sanitation standards. Essential Duties:

  • Conducting performance reviews and facilitating promotions, hiring, and development of kitchen staff
  • Collaborating with the General Manager on risk management initiatives
  • Supervising and training culinary team members
  • Scheduling kitchen staff within labor forecasts and budgets
  • Managing food inventory and ordering
  • Monitoring food costs and implementing waste control measures
  • Ensuring adherence to recipe standards and food safety protocols
  • Maintaining equipment and sanitation standards
  • Conducting regular inventories

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to foster a cohesive team environment and provide adequate training and workload distribution
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in PC applications, preferably MS Office
  • Effective English communication skills
  • Proven track record in kitchen management
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to delegate tasks efficiently
  • Stay updated on culinary trends and practices

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Executive Chef experience in a high-volume restaurant setting, with 6+ years of progressive chef experience
  • Strong background in private events/banquets
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities
