Job description

We are a growing family-owned restaurant management and events hospitality business based in Washington D.C. We are currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the hospitality industry and a passion for creating a positive work environment for our employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full cycle of the recruitment process, from posting job openings to onboarding new hires
  • Conduct new employee orientation and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed and filed appropriately
  • Manage employee benefits program and communicate with employees regarding enrollment, changes, and questions
  • Work with department managers to develop and implement training programs to ensure employee development and retention
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on HR policies and procedures
  • Address employee relations issues and conduct investigations as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and reports

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on the hospitality industry preferred
  • PHR or SHRM certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including recruiting, talent management, training, compensation practices, performance management, culture development, employee and union relations, federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with tact and discretion
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
