We are a new operation looking for a Head Barista/Manager to join our team in Chatham, New Jersey. The Head Barista will be involved with all operations of the Chatham store, including business operations, supply ordering, people management, and reporting. Potential for growth into a full time salaried general manager exists for the right candidate. The Head Barista will report directly to the owner & operator.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive a high-performance, employee first, community oriented culture across the team by setting clear expectations and targets, giving prompt and appropriate feedback to direct reports, and supporting development of the team.
- Oversee all coffee operations including quality control, stock management, vendor relationship management and daily reporting while maintaining compliance with company procedures and policies.
- Influence a fun and positive atmosphere by being approachable and professional.
- Ensure all ordering is done in a timely manner while maintaining an accurate inventory.
- Assess the coffee business on a weekly basis to support operational improvements with a focus on optimizing profit and promoting exceptional experiences for staff and guests.
- Strategically and consistently train the coffee team to ensure successful day-to-day operations and customer experience.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for preparation and service of all beverages.
- Ensure all Health & Safety requirements are followed.
- Ensure all maintenance records are up to date.
- Always demonstrate an authentic, best-in-class approach to customer satisfaction while role modeling for the team on best practices aligned with company guidelines and ethos.
- Assist with the development of the store and brand as needed.
- Maintain professional image while on duty.
Qualifications:
- Exhibit excellent organizational skills to effectively plan and execute short- and long-term projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships as well as highly organized, efficient and detail oriented.
- Creative and analytical thinker who encompasses strong business aptitude and is driven by results and guest satisfaction. Naturally hospitable.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
Requirements:
- 3 + years of high end coffee experience.
- Genuine passion for service and the hospitality industry.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, early mornings,weekends, and holidays.
- Food/Beverage knowledge in coffee/brunch environment preferred.
