About This Opportunity:
Rooster's Nashville Hot Chicken is looking for a dedicated Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen operations. As an integral member of our team, we need someone who will embody hospitality in all interactions with our team, guests, vendors, and the surrounding community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure the restaurant runs smoothly and efficiently with a focus on guest and employee experience.
- Monitor the presentation of all foods served to guests, ensuring appearance and high-quality standards are consistently maintained.
- Develop and retain a high-performance team at all levels who exemplify our core values and mission, aligned with our diversity and inclusion goals.
- Provide leadership and development for our BOH and FOH teams.
- Conduct daily staff meetings and quarterly safety meetings.
- Coordinate hiring and training activities for the kitchen and other production and BOH team members while continuously monitoring their performance.
- Outline policies, procedures, and systems to improve our business, service, and employee retention.
- Prepare and post schedules for kitchen staff on a weekly basis.
- Strengthen relationships between the team and our community.
- Work directly with the GM on developing safety and sanitation procedures, staff development, and product knowledge.
- Manage costs by creating effective requisition sheets, processes, and managing the checkbook, and maintaining pars.
- Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, inventory, and cost control.
- Order all food products, perishable and nonperishable goods, and material supplies for the restaurant.
- Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with reps and brands.
- Maintain an adequate supply of all provisions in the kitchen and establish programs to minimize waste and pilferage.
- Meet or exceed budget expectations through effective forecasting and controlling of the P&L items.
- Document personnel/payroll transactions and payroll reports, and prepare payroll for processing.
- Conduct daily DOH walkthroughs inspecting all kitchen areas to ensure sanitary conditions and ensure that all food is stored and served at proper temperatures.
- Schedule equipment repairs, service, and maintenance when needed.
- Ensure rigorous knowledge of and adherence to all applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
What You Bring to the Table:
- 1+ years of successful experience as a culinary leader in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Passion for quality food and exceptional customer service.
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is a plus.
- Serve Safe Certified in Food Protection Management or similar required.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred but not required.
