This legendary Barbary Coast Eatery has been a family owned, Bay Area tradition for 30 years! Our concept was inspired by our original namesake, a Barbary Coast saloon defying Prohibition and was known for its thick steaks, colorful patrons, and bootlegging lore. The restaurant has just undergone a complete and dazzling renovation and we are now seeking a poised and dedicated General Manager to lead this dynamic team that remains devoted to serving authentic, crave-able dishes that don’t pander to trend. As we unveil this gorgeous new space, the General Manager will oversee the entire operation, acting as a problem solver while focusing on enhancing hospitality inspired experiences for all guests and team members. The GM will be responsible for working cross-functionally to provide long-term strategic leadership, developing leaders for the broader organization and pushing the restaurant and brand forward. This position will be the face of the restaurant so charisma, passion and experience with highly anticipated new restaurant openings will all be considered when securing the perfect candidate. This position reports directly to ownership.
Responsibilities:

- Respond to and communicate the requests of guests.
- Direct and oversee the training and development of staff.
- Ensure all stated policies are followed per established procedures and guidelines.
- Assist in making employment and termination decisions in line with the restaurant policies.
- Maintain proper staffing levels in accordance with business volume. Ensure scheduling reflects the needs of the operations.
- Ensure all equipment, restaurant, and storage areas are kept clean and in excellent working condition through inspections and in accordance with the restaurant’s preventive maintenance programs.
- Provide a service standard that is consistent with the philosophy of the restaurant.
- Develop and oversee educational programs for all staff members.
- Prepare and maintain all relevant financial and inventory reports.
- Oversee inventories on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in accordance with restaurant policies.
- Facilitate weekly and monthly manager meetings.
- Display pride in appearance grooming and adhere to stated uniform standards.
- Work in a safe manner and abide by Workplace Health & Safety standards and Food and Safety Hygiene standards.
- Adhere to the company policies regarding accident and incident reporting procedures.
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6+ years’ experience working in a fine dining restaurant or establishment of similar caliber.
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in restaurant management preferred.
- Associate degree or equivalent certification in hospitality management preferred.
- ServSafe Manager Certification.
- Strong financial and computer skills; has experience working with and an understanding of P&L and budgeting.
- Ability to navigate and utilize Microsoft Office Suite programs (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), appropriate point of sale (POS) systems, and any other required operating machines (i.e., online, or digital reservation systems).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours, as needed.
- Must have excellent leadership, organizational, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to multitask in a demanding, high-volume environment under limited supervision.
- Impeccable service standards, attention to detail, and time management.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and in clear English.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive Base Salary - $120,000-$130,000/year
