Job Summary:

The Vice President of Operations for our fast-growing soup dumpling-focused concept, Ugly Dumpling, will oversee the daily operations of multiple units, ensuring high standards of quality, service, and operational efficiency. This role requires a dynamic leader with a passion for the restaurant industry, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The VP of Operations will play a critical role in driving the growth and success of our brand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to define and execute business plans.
  • Operational Oversight:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of all units, ensuring consistency in service and product quality.
    • Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Team Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, including regional and unit managers.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth.
    • Implement effective training programs to maintain high standards of customer service and operational excellence.
  • Financial Management:

    • Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
    • Analyze financial reports and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-control measures.
    • Drive profitability through strategic planning and effective resource management.
  • Quality and Compliance:

    • Ensure all units comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
    • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service.
    • Address and resolve any operational issues promptly and effectively.
  • Expansion and Growth:

    • Support the company’s growth initiatives by identifying and evaluating new market opportunities.
    • Oversee the opening of new units, ensuring smooth and successful launches.
    • Collaborate with the real estate and development teams to identify and secure prime locations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in restaurant operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing multi-unit restaurant operations, preferably in a fast-casual or quick-service environment.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management, P&L analysis, and cost control.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to oversee operations and support new unit openings.
