Sous Chef

Working with a talented team of Food & Beverage professionals, The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a forward thinking and creative Sous Chef to assist in overseeing restaurant's culinary operations.

  • Work for a luxury Five-Star Five-Diamond property in the heart of Michigan Avenue, Chicago.
  • Grow within a diverse multi-outlet property.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist Chef de Cuisine in planning, directing, controlling, coordinating and participating in the day-to-day preparation and production of the kitchen.
  • Accountable for the production of all Products required by the outlet. 
  • Ensures that the product is of the highest quality, and that this is consistently achieved.
  • Assists the Chefs in his tasks and supports his responsibilities during his absence.

General Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years culinary leadership experience ideally in an upscale dining.
  • In depth understanding of the various international cuisines
  • Relevant professional qualifications (eg. Culinary, Hospitality, Business, Marketing)
  • Ability to speak English fluently, additional languages would be highly advantageous
