Come join Long Hospitality - a young and hungry company looking to take the Asian culinary world by storm!

Danbi and Liu's Cafe (both opened within the last year) have been met with multiple accolades, including inclusion into the Michelin guide in 2024!

The Opportunity:

  • We need a culinary leader who can help us optimize and grow our restaurant concepts
  • As our Executive Sous Chef, you will have the opportunity to help guide our kitchen staff and optimize all operations within the kitchen, under the guidance of the ownership team and our executive chef team

What you bring:

  • Passion for food: We want someone who lives and breathes food; studies ingredients like Uni late into the night; and who loves to experiment with flavors and push culinary boundaries
  • Operations: Help us standardize processes, and keep food costs and labor in mind, while optimizing high quality dishes
  • Leadership skills: We need someone who can inspire, motivate, and lead a team of chefs and kitchen staff to achieve their full potential
  • Attention to detail: Every dish that comes out of our kitchen should be the same level of high quality consistency, and we need someone who is meticulous and precise in their work.
  • Sense of Humor: Yes, the kitchen needs to be strict and disciplined. But we also believe that cooking should be fun, and we want an Executive Chef who isn't afraid to keep a positive vibe in the kitchen, ensuring staff are upbeat and enjoying their shifts

Here are some of our expectations:

  • Live and breathe the mission and vision of Long Hospitality – we love providing guests with a warm, welcoming experience, while offering an innovative yet value-driven culinary program
  • Gain a full working knowledge of all menu items, recipes, prep lists, and station setups
  • Gain an understanding of all equipment, how it operates, and how to maintain & clean equipment
  • Take the reins of our kitchen financials, controlling food, labor, supply controls, and costs

Shortlist of things you'll be handling:

  • Manage kitchen operations across concepts in partnership with the Ownership Group
  • Own the restaurant kitchens and food programs; ensure that our restaurant kitchens are operating efficiently and profitably
  • Participate in weekly management meetings to develop strategies and processes to improve service and increase sales
  • Research and utilize industry trends, innovative techniques, and fully understand ingredients down to the detail; from sourcing to handling
  • Ensure consistent menu execution by using tools such as line checks, menu change SOPs, and recipes
  • Develop a team of prepared and qualified leaders to move upward in the organization.
  • Oversee inventory ordering, receiving and rotations as needed
  • Maintain deep cleaning schedules and equipment maintenance schedules.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of commercial cooking experience (Michelin experience preferred, but not required)
  • 2+ years of back-of-house management experience in high-volume, fast paced fine-dining restaurant
  • “Lead By example” mentality with excellent leadership qualities; react well under pressure and treat others with respect and consideration
  • Ability to navigate and utilize Microsoft Office Suite programs (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), appropriate point of sale (POS) systems, and any other required operating machines (i.e. cooking machinery)
  • Skilled in direct interaction with guests
  • Able to build effective relationship based on respect, trust, and integrity with client is required
  • Reliable, flexible, and a team player

So what are you waiting for? If you're ready to take your culinary career to the next level, apply today and join our team!
