Sous Chef - Progressive Italian
Exciting new Italian restaurant from successful award-winning and renowned Chef is looking for a Sous Chef to join the team. The menu draws inspiration from Coastal and Central Italy with local California, seasonal ingredients. Awesome opportunity to join a well-respected chef and a highly anticipated new addition to LA's dining scene!
Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
- Leading and mentoring a strong culinary team, including hands on in the kitchen and on the line
- Collaborate with and support the culinary management team (Chef Owner, Exec Chef, hourly employees)
- Proper ordering and inventory
- Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
- Keeping track of new trends in the industry
- Creating thoughtful food that fits the aesthetic of the concept
Sous Chef Preferred Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a similar position (Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, Kitchen Supervisor) in an Italian or California cuisine concept
- Love for unique, quality, locally sourced ingredients
- Early experience in Michelin or James Beard - recognized kitchens
- Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
- Highly motivated, passionate, and have a strong sense of humility
- Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
Benefits Include:
- Base salary in the $70k-75k with flexibility to go up to $80k for a Sous Chef with more extensive experience
