Sous Chef - Hollywood Steakhouse
Wildly successful and popular steak-centric restaurant is seeking a Sous Chef with extensive grill experience in a high-volume setting. A steakhouse background is key as steaks and chops are staples of their menu. This establishment has a strong following in the community and a longstanding team with low turnover. Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
- Proper ordering, receiving, and inventory
- Collaborate with and support the culinary management team
- Leading, mentoring and coaching a strong culinary team, including hands on in the kitchen
- Maintain a positive, work environment via effective, professional communication with other employees and managers
- Follow best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen to assure compliance with local health department and company standard.
Sous Chef Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience as a Sous Chef in high-volume restaurant doing at least 250 covers a night (or similar experience as Kitchen Manager or Executive Sous Chef)
- Past steakhouse experience
- Extensive grill or broiler cook experience required
- Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation, and maintenance of kitchen equipment
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Compensation includes:
- Base salary in the $75-85k range, with room to come up to $90k with expert level broiler knowledge
