Job Opportunity: Sous Chef – Steingold’s of Chicago

Steingold’s of Chicago, a modern Jewish deli and restaurant group, is seeking a talented and reliable Sous Chef to join our culinary team. With three locations and a commitment to delivering high-quality, handcrafted dishes, we’re looking for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about their craft.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in managing kitchen operations across all three Steingold’s locations.
Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation align with Steingold’s standards.
Support menu planning, inventory management, and kitchen organization.
Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Must have, or be able to obtain once hired, a servsafe manager certification, city of Chicago food handler and allergen certification

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of professional kitchen experience, with minimal gaps in employment.
Strong references highlighting reliability, skill, and leadership.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required).
Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred).
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

Compensation Details
