This is an AM position with an average of 42 hours per week. Shifts are from 5:30AM/6:00AM - 3:00/4:00PM, five days a week. You will be given two consecutive days off per week Responsibilities
- Train and develop cooks to company standards
- Anticipate ingredient needs and arrange stock accordingly, ordering and inventory applications, FIFO, and organization of storage for ingredients and prep
- Will learn basics of invoicing and accounting through monthly review of a restaurant-wide PNL and will learn basic functions of our POS system, Toast
- Ensure a productive kitchen flow that upholds business standards
- Communicate through (but not limited to) Slack, Email via Google Suite, production and inventory lists, and whiteboards.
- Daily kitchen logs
Qualifications:
- Experience working as a sous chef or kitchen manager
- High familiarity with kitchen equipment, processes, and health and safety guideline
- Able to delegate tasks effectively and assist when needed with a high level of communication skills and emotional responsibility
- Adaptable to high traffic and kitchen volume: engaging various stations, to potentially include the Front-of-House, when volume dictates
- Bi-lingual a plus!
- Must have, or be able to obtain once hired, a servsafe manager certification, city of Chicago food handler and allergen certification
