Experienced line cook needed to staff a new restaurant in Red Hook, Brooklyn, aspiring to a high quality, classically executed, casual restaurant experience.
Must have:
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Line Cook in a high-volume restaurant. (Experience with Southern European or Northern African cuisine is a plus)
• Physical Requirements: Should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Should be able to work calmly, and with respect for co-workers, under pressure.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation standards and allergen handling.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, mornings and late nights as needed
Things to consider before applying: You must be able to work in the US. Also, this is a new restaurant, still early in development, with weekly changes to the menu so team work will be essential and you must be comfortable learning multiple stations and disciplines and willing to shift with the needs of the kitchen and teach others with patience and clarity. And of course, cleaning and cleanliness must always be front-of-mind and constant.
Approx. 40 hrs a week.
Food Handler’s Card is a plus.
