Job Overview:
The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations of multiple units within one brand. This role is the leader for multiple kitchen teams, and with their support, the Executive Chef will guide the brand forward as it continues to grow locally in the VA, MD, and DC area. This role is well suited for an individual that has experience mentoring and leading teams towards a common goal. This is a hands-on position that will require working side by side with individuals at all levels of the organization. A keen attention to detail will go a long way and further the success in this role.
Duties:
- Lead the kitchen operations and development of a growing multi-unit brand
- Provide leadership and direction to multiple teams
- Ensure company quality standards and consistency are maintained
- Mentor kitchen staff for continuous growth
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, partners, and clients
- Manage day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure smooth functioning of all units
- Perform evaluations of various management teams
- Implement systems to enhance operational efficiency
- Direct the onboarding, training, and development of staff
- Monitor controllable costs to operate within budget
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leadership roles, preferably as an Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine or similar position; multi-unit a plus
- Must be detail-oriented and able to problem-solve within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization
- Self-starter able to learn quickly and pivot as necessary
- Open availability with a flexible schedule that is dictated by company needs
- Able to work as a hands-on leader
