Primary Objective of Position:
- Answer internal calls while providing service, order taking of food and beverages items in guest rooms according to hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently. Assist in the maintenance of the In Room Dining area and equipment.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Responsible for promptly answer guest calls, announce specials, promote menu items and answer questions regarding preparation methods
- Responsible for maintaining knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list
- Responsible for documenting orders, repeat items back to callers to ensure accuracy and quote expected arrival time per set standards with speed and accuracy
- Responsible for inputting orders into POS system allowing kitchen staff to begin preparation; note any special requests clearly
- Provide maximum levels of guest service while maintaining Langham Hospitality Group standards and Forbes service standards
- Responsible for accurately ringing up and posting honor bar charges to Guest folios
- Responsible for answering In-Room Dining phone within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone technique
- Responsible for opening and closing side duties as assigned, assist service staff during peak periods by preparing service trays and generally assisting with all efforts to ensure prompt delivery
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all service areas following department guidelines
Experience Required:
- High School diploma preferred. Hospitality College degree preferred
- 2 years of previous In-Room Dining experience preferred
- Luxury hotel Food & Beverage experience preferred
- IL Sanitation License, TIPS and BASSET licenses required
- Knowledge of F&B Point of Sale systems preferred
