Agi’s Counter, an Eastern European influenced restaurant in Crown Heights by James Beard nominated chef Jeremy Salamon, is seeking an assistant baker. We are a small team of creative professionals looking for a charismatic and dedicated baker to join our team! We pride ourselves on fostering a positive and open-minded work environment with a team that is truly passionate about their craft. 

Responsibilities:

• Daily preparation, baking, mixing, shaping, proofing, portioning, icing, and assembly of all baked goods
• Operate all commercial oven, mixers, and other bakery equipment 
• Keep work area clean, organized and stocked
• Food safety compliance and knowledge
• Maintain inventory and monitor baking supplies

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years experience in a bakery, ideally NYC based
• Close attention to detail and care for a high-quality product
• Ability to work efficiently and multitask
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Self-motivated with a strong team mindset
• Ability to follow recipes and techniques
• Basic knowledge and experience of bakery principles
• Open and strong communicator!
• Willingness to learn and grow and adapt
