We’re looking for bussers/barbacks to join the team at Theodora
Chef/owner Tomer Blechman of the popular Mediterranean restaurant Miss Ada in Fort Greene and its sister concept Nili in Carroll Gardens opens his newest concept, Theodora with co-owner Gerardo Estevez. Theodora is a progression of Miss Ada, taking the community Tomer built. At the heart of Theodora is an inviting open kitchen focusing on fresh and dry-aged seafood and open-fire cooking.
The busser/barback is a flexible role, trained to work on the floor and to support behind the bar. They will bus and reset tables, polish silverware, restock stations, and assist with clearing tables and running food. When behind the bar they will wash and polish glassware, stock ice, juice citrus, and set out glassware for bartenders.
This could be a great opportunity for a newer server looking to gain restaurant experience. The role allows for working in multiple spaces and learning from a strong team.
Requirements:
- Some restaurant experience is strongly preferred
- Interest in learning and growing within a restaurant
- Spanish language ability is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Be able to stand for extended periods of time [over 7 hours]
- Be able to lift and carry 50 pounds steadily
- Be comfortable bending, sitting, walking extended distances including up and down flights of stairs, and moving.
- Be comfortable walking up and down stairs frequently, including while carrying large containers
