CAFÉ LLAMA – BACKSERVER/SERVER

The Llama Hospitality Group has opened new establishment on the 66th floor within the new Spiral building in Hudson Yards called CAFÉ LLAMA! Bringing the Spiral business member’s an exclusive clubhouse space, Café Llama is the ultimate stop for all your go-to’s with some Peruvian flare.

We are looking for a Café Backserver member who is responsible for supporting servers and occassionally bar with needs, whether it be table maintenance, dining room upkeep, and more. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively, multi-task and have a great understanding of guest needs. There's is also opporuntity to pick up server shifts depending on experience. 

CAFÉ LLAMA is open Monday - Friday, 8am - 8pm. We function as an amenity space/high-end café solely to the tenants of the building and cater to dozens of buy-out events a month.

Ideal Candidates should have the following:

• 3 or more years of New York fine dining restaurant experience, private club or its equivalent
• Desire and dedication to offer premier fine dining experience
• Strong coffee, food, and beverage knowledge
• An eagerness to grow and learn
• Events/Catering experience but not required

Responsibilities

• Run food from the kitchen and stock plates for chefs
• Support table service by marking with silver, pouring water, and resetting tables
• Maintain a current and complete menu knowledge and know your 3-line drop for every dish.
• Make sure all stations are full and ready for service and fully operational during service.
• Memorizing table numbers and seat positions, setting food down accordingly.
• Completing assigned side work before and after service.
• Work as a team, helping others as needed.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Ability to communicate food descriptions to guest
• Average level service knowledge, and how to provide a positive guest experience
• Detail-oriented & able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Additional requirements:

• Must be able to lift/move up to 10lbs, frequently lift/move up to 25lbs, and occasionally lift/move up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously
