NDC was founded in 1953 by former members of the Truman Administration as a membership organization dedicated to advancing the party principles in a social atmosphere. Many of our members include White House Officials, members of the United States House of Representatives and Senate, and national leaders in business and industry.
The National Democratic Club is located on Capitol Hill within blocks of Congressional office buildings, the Library of Congress, and the US Supreme Court. There is also convenient access to the Capitol South Metro Station (Blue, Orange, and Silver lines.)
Qualified Candidates will have most of the following:
- 5-10 years as an Executive Chef in a fine dining establishment or Private Club
- Track record of excellence, accolades, positive reputation among industry peers
- Union workforce management experience
- P&L and Finacial accountablity
- Extreme Attention to Detail
- Creative Menu Development
- Ability to effectivly coach and teach staff from a variety of backrounds
- Easily interface with Club Members, Management, Staff, and others
- Experience working in a Private Club Enviornment
- Understands Banquet and Catering/Event Production
- Exceptional Time Management Skills
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Speaks Spanish
- Familiarity with Toast POS System
- Pastry Experience
- Competative Salary (Based on Experience)

The NDC has a variety of club events from our monthly Live Music Night, our Annual Golf Tournament, and various cultural and holiday events throughout the year.
Our members also have access to our Apartment located just around the corner, at 415 New Jersey Ave S.E. This space can be reserved, in advance for intimate sit-down breakfasts, lunches, meetings, as well as for stand-up receptions. Other amenities available to members are the use of our humidors, access membership of the Congressional Federal Credit Union and an on-site CFCU ATM, a mini business center and wireless internet connection.
In addition to our outstanding lunch and dinner menus, our Executive Chef creates daily/weekly specials. The NDC also offers members a full bar with happy hour specials and bar menu. We have a quaint outdoor patio perfect for enjoying a cigar and some comradery.
