Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team in creating exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will oversee kitchen operations, menu planning, and staff management to ensure high-quality food service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads kitchen team.
  • Provides guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including food preparation, and dish plating.
  • Oversees and organizes kitchen stock and ingredients.
  • Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance.
  • Hires and trains new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards.
  • Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimizes waste. Works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns.
  • Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards.
  • Works to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities.
  • Verifies that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
  • Seasonal menu creation.
  • Coordinates with restaurant management team on supply ordering, budget, and kitchen efficiency and staffing.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous Executive Chef and NYC experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of restaurant regulations & NYC health department regulations.
  • Leadership, management, positivity, ability to work under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, creative problem solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High Volume Experience.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
  • In-depth knowledge of culinary arts, food service regulations, and kitchen management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while upholding quality standards
  • Degree in Culinary Arts or relevant field is preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Stamina to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Manual dexterity to handle kitchen equipment and tools
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Comprehensive understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Creative skills for developing new and innovative recipes
  • Effective management and training techniques for kitchen staff
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations
