Responsibilities as a server shift lead:
- Supervise employees, assigning duties.
- Monitor team performance and ensure duties are performed efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health, and safety standards.
- Coaching team members and training new staff.
- Manage opening and closing duties ensuring all the tasks are completed
- Handling customer issues and escalating to management as needed
- Greet and make all guests feel welcome at the restaurant
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely fashion
- Be knowledgeable regarding our concept, food and beverages
- Explain our restaurant concept to customers
- Explain to guests about menu items and make recommendations.
- Serve food & beverages to the customers
- Clean and prepare the dining areas
- Greet and make all guests feel welcome at the restaurant
- Perform other restaurant duties as assigned
- Be proficient with our reservation system as well as POS
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a server
- Ability to build rapport with guests
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Willing to work hard as a part of the team
- Have the attitude of learning the true modern Japanese cuisine
- Be caring of customers, co-workers and people around you
- Have a "No job is too small!" attitude -- you will be asked to clean in addition to hosting, running, serving, learning, etc.
- Always stay busy -- if the restaurant is slow, then we need to be polishing glasses, silverware, etc. There will not be idle time.
- Be able to lift 50 lbs
- Be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Familiarity with Japanese cuisine is a plus.

This is a full-time or part-time position; a minimum of three days a week.
