An established midtown restaurant is seeking a seasoned Events Director, with a loyal and robust clientele following, to oversee a multi-faceted private events department. This role includes leading the sales department, outreach, and operations. The ideal individual is comfortable in a leadership role, has fine dining experience, and has a proven track record of driving sales. This role will report directly to upper management, and will manage a small team. The candidate should have experience projecting budgets, upselling events, strong organizational skills, and have an overall great business acumen.
Duties include:
• Sales and upselling of private events
• Create monthly and annual budgets
• Organization of leads
• Maintenance of contacts
• Creation of BEOs and floorplans for all private events
• Constant communication with front of back of house on event updates
• Determination to expand business
• Setting time aside to find new business
Requirements:
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent management, supervisory, and customer service skills
• Experience with conference, meeting and production management
• A high level of energy and passion for service, people and quality
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines
• Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel,
• Flexible schedule for onsite work 40-50+ hours per week
• Able to work evenings and weekends/holidays as required.
Compensation:
Experience-based compensation beginning at $95k annually, (but would pay more for the right candidate) plus competitive commission based on experience.
