Are you passionate about crafting exceptional drinks and providing outstanding service? Chez Messy, a renowned dining establishment, is seeking talented individuals to join our team as Bartenders. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and operation of our bar, creating delightful experiences for our guests.
Position: Bartender
Reporting to: General Manager/Restaurant Manager/Assistant Restaurant Manager
Responsibilities:
- Present yourself in the proper uniform, reflecting the high standards of Chez Messy.
- Possess the skills and knowledge to perform all duties and responsibilities of a bar back.
- Receive drink orders from guests and servers with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ensure the legal drinking age of guests by diligently checking acceptable identification, as Chez Messy requires identification checks for guests who appear to be 30 years of age or younger.
- Be aware of and know when to stop serving an intoxicated guest. Inform the manager of your intention and action to cease serving a guest for any reason.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar throughout service, following all company guidelines, procedures, and policies regarding maintenance, sanitation, and disposal of garbage and bottles.
- Mix and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for guests in the lounge, bar, and dining room. Follow standard recipes and carefully combine ingredients such as liquor, soda, juices, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other beverages. Garnish drinks accordingly.
- Serve liquor-based drinks, wine, bottled beer, and draught beer in the appropriate glass or mug, following company procedures.
- Accurately enter all beverages into the POS system, collect payment from guests, and provide change.
- Develop expertise in wines, beers, and mixed drinks, becoming the go-to resource for guests seeking recommendations.
- Order and requisition liquors as needed to maintain proper stock levels, ensuring smooth and efficient service at all times.
- Keep an ample stock of service support items, including stirrers, beverage napkins, fruit, and condiments.
- Create an attractive display by arranging bottles and glasses in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
- Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks, adding a fresh touch to each creation.
- Wash and sanitize glassware to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Job Standards:
Possess basic English reading and communication skills.
Ability to perform duties continuously for up to five (5) hours without a break.
Capable of lifting and moving products and equipment as required.
Comply with all specifications, procedures, and policies of Chez Messy.
Consistently treat guests, team members, and management with courtesy and professionalism.
Education and Experience:
Previous food service experience is preferred, and a strong willingness to learn and work hard is required. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
Additional Job Functions:
Fulfill other duties as assigned by Restaurant Management, contributing to the overall success of the bar operation.
