Yokai is seeking dedicated and professional individuals to join our kitchen team.
Yokai is a live fire kitchen and Hi-Fi cocktail bar inspired by travel throughout Japan and has been recently named one of San Francisco’s best new restaurants. The focus of our kitchen is on sourcing pristine Japanese and Californian ingredients that are prepared simply and deliciously. Yokai is housed in an historic brick and timber building located at 545 Mission Street in the heart of San Francisco.
Requirements
- Positive and professional attitude
- Determined work ethic
- Culinary degree is preferred but not required
- Ability to communicate with peers and supervisors
- Ability to work alone as well as with a team
- Experience in fast paced upscale dining is a plus
- Michelin level standards a plus
- Must be able to stand for up to 6 hours at a time
Ideal candidates will posses the following experience and traits:
- A positive attitude and the ability to be flexible when required
- 1+ years experience in a professional kitchen
- Experience in a fine dining environment
- Organizational skills (both in a mental and physical capacity)
- Passion, patience and determination
- A love for professional cooking, hospitality and serving others
35-40hrs/5 day week
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $25.00)
