We are seeking welcoming and efficient hosts to join our team at our soon to open 400-seat French brasserie located in Grand Central Station. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience across breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival, maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently, accommodating walk-ins and special requests
- Escort guests to their tables
- Monitor dining room activity to ensure smooth seating flow and minimize wait times
- Maintain an organized and clean reception area
- Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries and taking reservations
- Assist with special events and large party bookings
- Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure guest satisfaction
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with tact and professionalism
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a host/hostess in a high-volume restaurant
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Proficiency in reservation management systems
- Basic knowledge of French cuisine and dining etiquette
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Professional appearance and excellent personal hygiene
- Fluency in English; knowledge of French or other languages is a plus
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Capable of maneuvering in a fast-paced, crowded environment
