Bartender - French Brasserie at Grand Central Station

We are seeking an experienced and passionate bartender who will play a crucial role in the successful launch and daily operations of our new 400-seat French brasserie located in Grand Central Station. This bustling establishment will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, catering to commuters, tourists, and local diners alike.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including classic cocktails, French wines, and specialty drinks
• Interact with customers professionally, take orders, and make knowledgeable recommendations on food and drink pairings
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area
• Process payments and handle cash transactions accurately
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations, including responsible alcohol service
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service
• Assist in creating and updating seasonal drink menus
• Manage inventory and place orders for bar supplies as needed
• Ensure excellent customer service during all meal periods, from breakfast through dinner

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a bartender, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or brasserie setting
• Excellent knowledge of cocktail mixing, garnishing, and serving techniques
• Familiarity with French wines, spirits, and culinary traditions
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills to handle a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Knowledge of POS systems and basic computer skills
• Valid alcohol service certification
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is a plus

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and move continuously during shifts
• Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
• Dexterity to handle glassware, bottles, and bar equipment safely
