The host presents a positive first impression of L’Antica’s friendliness, excellent service and high standards. The host also greets guests upon arrival, inform guests of their wait time, monitors a waiting list, enters guest names into the computer system, shows guests to their tables and bids guests farewell as they leave.

Responsibilities

• Greet incoming and departing Guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort and seat guests to assigned dining area; present menus; answer initial questions, announce waiter's name

• Carry natural conversation with guests without sounding scripted or intrusive

• Use visual cues to seat Guests in either the bar or dining area depending on their preference

• Notify guests when a table is ready.

• Report any problems or issues to restaurant manager.

• Assist in setting up and cleaning up the restaurant during opening and closing shifts,

  respectively.

• Addresses and resolves customer concerns and complaints.

• Monitor and manage the flow of Guests into the Dining and Bar areas

• Answer incoming calls and take reservations for breakfast, lunch or dinner

• Plan and organize reservations on restaurant seating chart

• Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.

• Observant to guests' needs throughout dining experience to ensure they receive high quality

  service (i.e. notice a drink refill is needed while seating another Guest and ensuring the drink

  is refilled prior to getting back to the door).

• Manage seating chart throughout shift and optimize seating and assign guests evenly across servers’ sections to ensure even workload for wait staff

• Schedule reservations with large parties in collaboration with management teamReconcile cash drawer by proving cash transactions; listing checks and credit card charges for to-go orders
