About Us:
A neo-bistro with New York sensibility and global influences, ACRU is the first restaurant from Chef/Partner Daniel Garwood (previously Sous Chef at the Michelin-starred Atomix), in partnership with NA:EUN Hospitality Group, which is behind some of New York and the world’s most renowned concepts including Atomix, Atoboy, and NARO.
Position Overview:
ACRU is looking for experienced and dedicated Hosts to join our team. As a Host at ACRU, you will work in conjunction with the ACRU team in setting a strong foundation with our reservation system and managing existing reservations.
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual, with a strong work ethic, and an endless curiosity to learn and grow with our restaurant.
This position reports to the ACRU Front of House Managers.
Hosts responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Be available to answer phone calls during service hours.
- Greeting guests with sincerity and seating guests with graciousness.
- Providing warm hospitality to guests as they wait for their tables.
- Maintaining cleanliness in all guest-facing areas of the reception hallways, host stand, washrooms, and coat check.
- Assisting guests with checking coats, bags, umbrellas, etc
- Communicating table needs to ensure a smooth service and that all reservations are seated in a timely manner.
- Having an intimate knowledge of all allergens in our food and beverage offerings, and working with the kitchen as a liaison for our guests to accommodate their dietary needs whenever possible.
- Maintain detailed notes for our guests.
- Building rapport with guests, greeting guests, marking guest preferences, and ensuring the comfort and enjoyment of all those that dine with us.
- Communicating with guests regarding upcoming reservations and answering any inquiries regarding ACRU.
Qualified Hosts candidates must be energetic, enthusiastic, and have a great attitude, as well as:
- Broad and flexible availability to work daytime and evenings
- At least 1 year of experience (preferably in a host or maitre d’ role)
- Must be able to demonstrate an extensive depth of organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workplace
- Previous experience with RESY is beneficial, but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs if necessary
- Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment
- Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant
