Job Details
Il Totano is looking for a sous chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate would have strong culinary skills, an upbeat personality and is passionate about food and the guest experience. Lots of opportunity to bring creative ideas to the table, motivate, inspire the culinary team & be the chef that everyone wants to work with! 

Il Totano is a new seafood focused southern Italian restaurant opening in the heart of the west village with a dry aged fish program & cooking with live fire. Why work at Il Totano? Responsibilities include:

Maintain the highest standards of food quality.
Supervise and direct food preparation and production.
Motivate and inspire the team.
Create daily specials and seasonal menu changes.
Take ownership of the physical plant and keep it clean and nice!
Managing food & labor costs
Raw Fish handling, fabrication & managament a plus!
Cooking over live fire & various charcoals.

Job Requirements:

Strong culinary skills and an upbeat personality.
Friendly and passionate about food and the guest experience.
At least 3 years of NYC restaurant experience preferred.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
NYC Food Handlers Certification.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($65,000.00 - $70,000.00)
