Job Description: We are seeking a talented and experienced Line Cook to join our kitchen team at George. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Greek cuisine and grilling techniques. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of Greek dishes, with a focus on grilling meats, seafood, and vegetables.
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications to ensure consistency and quality.
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Assist in the training and development of kitchen staff as needed.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to create and refine menu items.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook, preferably with a focus on Greek cuisine and grilling.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience is preferred.
- A positive attitude and a passion for cooking.
