Job Details

Job Title: Assistant Baker

Location: 619 Saint John's Pl, 11238, Crown Heights

Position Type: Full-Time

Hours: 9 am - 5 pm (5 days a week / Wednesday - Sunday) (subject to change) (*weekend availability is a must)

Anticipated Start Date: Immediately

Pay: $18 - $20 per hour + tips ($200 per week averagely)

Lisbonata is a growing artisanal bakery in Brooklyn, specializing in handcrafted Pastéis de Nata — traditional Portuguese custard tarts made with care and precision. We’re seeking a reliable and responsible team player who can support our bakers and help maintain the foundation of our daily production. This role includes preparing custard, shaping pastries, prepping ingredients, and supporting various day-to-day bakery tasks.  If you're ready to showcase your talent and contribute to our delicious creations, we’d love to welcome you aboard!


Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of prior experience as a baker, with a preference for candidates who have experience with laminated dough techniques.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, small-team environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a new and dynamic business setting.
  • A keen eye for detail and dedication to maintaining high standards
  • Passion for creating delightful pastry experiences for our customers.
  • Great communicator and collaborative personality.
  • Ability to work Wednesday through Sunday. 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and authorized to work in the US.

As we specialize in crafting only one product daily, the ideal candidate responsibilities include:

  • Assist in shaping, filling, and baking pastries, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.

  • Prepare custard and other fillings by following precise recipes and techniques.

  • Assist with the production of laminated dough as needed.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

  • Collaborate closely with team members to ensure an efficient workflow and timely production.

  • Clean equipment, baking tins, and workstations; support the dishwasher/cleaning duties as needed.

  • Label all prepared products accurately and consistently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Be able to stand for extended periods of time [over 7,5 hours]
  • Be able to lift and carry 50 pounds steadily
