Job Description: As the Head Chef/Culinary Director, you will command the kitchen's helm, steering our culinary team towards excellence. Your role is crucial in delivering highquality food that reflects our deep Japanese roots and our commitment to an exceptional dining experience. Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and inspire the culinary team, ensuring a collaborative and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Innovate and design menus that capture the imagination and cater to diverse palates, maintaining alignment with our brand ethos.
  • Manage all aspects of food preparation, upholding superior standards of quality and presentation.
  • Conduct effective inventory control, strategically minimizing waste and optimizing cost-efficiency.
  • Work in tandem with the Dietary department to accommodate dietary needs and preferences.
  • Uphold the highest standards of kitchen hygiene and safety in compliance with health regulations.
  • Develop and mentor kitchen staff, fostering skill enhancement through training in cooking techniques and safety protocols.
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of exceptional food quality, surpassing guest expectations.
  • Engage in collaborative efforts to create synergistic food and beverage pairings that elevate the dining experience.
  • Oversee P&L responsibilities, kitchen management, and employee shift coordination to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience as a Head Chef/Culinary Director or equivalent in a high-caliber restaurant environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of kitchen operations, including inventory and cost management, as well as menu development.
  • Adept in a variety of cooking methods and global cuisines, with a special emphasis on Japanese culinary practices.
  • Outstanding organizational talents, capable of multitasking in a dynamic setting.
  • Strong communication abilities for effective team leadership and external engagement.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules, inclusive of nights, weekends, and holidays, to align with restaurant needs.

Preferred Skills:

Proficiency in English and Japanese languages to cater to a diverse clientele and uphold the integrity of our Japanese heritage.

Familiarity with Japanese customs and fine dining etiquettes to maintain the authenticity of our guest experience.
