About The Butcher's Daughter:
The Butcher’s Daughter is a busy, fast-paced, and vibrant vegetarian restaurant with three locations in the New York City area and two locations in Los Angeles. We are home to locals and a destination for travelers, and we are expanding our locations! We are looking for an Assistant General Manager for our Venice location.
Assistant General Manager's Responsibilities:
- At least 2-3 years of recent experience in the same position in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant setting
- Report directly to the General Manager
- Overseeing the education of the staff on the points of service, including an overall beverage appreciation and training to boost our staff's product knowledge, steps of service, table-side presence, proper wine service, and overall mise en place.
- Managing the floor, including touching tables, running food, overseeing staff, and monitoring the door.
- Opening and closing the restaurant, including preparing and reconciling closing banks, conducting pre-shifts with your team, writing daily recaps, and doing the final restaurant walk-through.
- Managing all employees, including assisting in training, coaching, supporting, and disciplining.
- Participating in management meetings.
- Managing R&M for the restaurant through approved contractors as needed.
- Assisting GM in controlling COGS, labor, and comps to budgets set by GM.
- Assisting in the execution of monthly inventory.
- Have in-depth experience with Open Table and Toast
- Have extensive food and beverage knowledge
- Be willing to work nights and weekends
Team & Person Responsibilities:
- Provides direction to employees regarding operations and procedures.
- Interview hourly employees - hires, conducts orientations, develops and terminates when necessary. Establish performance reviews and clearly layout expectations on a daily basis.
- Communicates in a clearly and effectively
- Is self- disciplined and possesses natural leadership
- Pleasant and polite manager, professional and presentable
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Safely and effectively use all necessary tools, equipment, and cleaning chemicals
- Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant which may include stairs, uneven, and/or slick surfaces
- Ability to bear exposure to hot and cold environments
Compensation:
- Based on Experience - Ranging from at $80 - $85K
- Full Medical benefits: 100% covered after 30 days
- 10 days paid vacation
- Quarterly bonus program
