We cook everything from scratch and butcher fish to meat and have a variety of open positions. Luke is a staple in New Orleans and continues to serve great food along with great service.

Luke is a Creole-inspired Brasserie located in the heart of New Orleans’ Central Business District on world-famous St. Charles Avenue, steps from the French Quarter neighborhood. A lively atmosphere surrounds the raw bar offering the freshest seafood and oysters procured daily from the Gulf of Mexico. Chef Erick Loos is at the helm of the kitchen featuring dishes that highlight local purveyors and farmers’ market ingredients. Behind the bar, a selection of bartender-created specialty cocktails are offered among a carefully-curated list of wines from throughout the world and locally crafted brews.

 

Your job is to work as part of the team in the kitchen, producing high-quality menu items under the direction of the chef.  We are looking for talented individuals that thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will prep, cook and season all food according to the recipe; control food production; maintain a clean station and adhere to all kitchen maintenance and sanitation standards; have an up-to-date knowledge of the menu (including preparation, seasoning, ingredients and plate presentation); follow proper methods for preparing and cooking food; and more. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 
Must be at least 18 years of age.  Must have a high school diploma or GED.   Must be familiar with all phases of food preparation and related techniques. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Must be able to uphold company standards related to appearance and dress.  You must have one-year prior experience in a kitchen as a prep or line cook.  You must be able to meet the physical demands of the position:  Mobility and dexterity to move/lift large, heavy objects up to 45 lbs.; able to stand and walk for periods of up to 8 hours; able to work in a hot environment and/or close-quarters; manual dexterity to include using kitchen utensils and handling food items.  Must be able to tolerate industry standard chemicals used for cleaning and sanitizing and be able to withstand a hot and/or close environment. Must be able to work at a fast pace, and to respond to visual and oral cues.
