Position Description
Is responsible for creating a positive and welcoming experience for guests at Dizzy’s Club – Jazz at Lincoln Center. As a host, you will be the first and last point of contact with guests at Dizzy’s Club and is responsible for greeting, seating, and saying goodbye to guests as well as maintaining the flow of the restaurant during service. The primary role is to ensure smooth operations and flow while providing exceptional hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Greeting and welcoming guests as they arrive at the venue.
- Review nightly reservations and take note of any VIP guests, large parties, special requests, etc.
- Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists.
- Monitoring the club’s seating availability and determine if accepting walk-ins are possible.
- Manage, record and track voicemails accurately.
- Proving rundown reservation notes for daily pre shift meetings.
- Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas.
- Provide menus and announce waiter/waitress’s name.
- Greet customers upon their departure.
- Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options.
- Upkeep, collection and organization of menus.
- Maintain a clean front desk and coat check area.
- Answer incoming calls and address customers’ inquiries.
- Assist wait staff as needed.
- Provide coat check service as needed.
Requirements and skills
- Previous work experience as a Host/Hostess in NYC.
- Understanding of restaurant etiquette.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
- Experience in managing reservations.
- Demonstrable customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area.
- Availability to work in shifts as needed.
- Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift.
- Sense of urgency and decorum
- Interest and knowledge of Jazz is a plus.

Hourly rate: $18.00 per hour
