Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and results-driven General Manager to oversee all aspects of FARMSHOP Santa Monica's restaurant operations. The General Manager will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of hospitality, service, and operational excellence while upholding FARMSHOP's commitment to exceptional food and experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership
- Lead and manage all aspects of restaurant operations.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations.
- Monitor and control restaurant expenses, including beverage, food and labor costs.
- Oversee restaurant maintenance and cleanliness to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Team Management
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Hire, train, and develop all restaurant and marketplace staff.
- Schedule and manage staffing levels to meet operational needs.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
- Menu Implementation and Procurement
- Collaborate with the culinary team to implement menus for the restaurant and marketplace.
- Manage vendor relationships and procurement processes.
- Work closely with the team to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of ingredients, supplies, and equipment.
- Guest Experience
- Monitor guest satisfaction and feedback.
- Respond promptly to inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
- Ensure a positive dining experience for all guests in both marketplace and restaurant.
- Respond to all feedback and reviews on platforms such as Resy, Google, Yelp, etc.
- Escalate negative reviews as needed to address underlying issues and maintain the restaurant's reputation.
- Financial Management
- Analyze financial data and adhere to established budgets.
- Achieve budgetary targets and maximize profitability.
- Present regular reports to senior management.
- Community Engagement
- Represent FARMSHOP in the local community.
- Build relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Enhance brand visibility and reputation.
- Continuous Improvement
- Stay informed about industry trends and market dynamics.
- Adapt strategies and initiatives to meet evolving consumer demands.
- Provide insights, analysis, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Recruitment and Staffing
- Collaborate with HR department on recruitment efforts, including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new staff members.
- Develop and implement staffing plans to ensure adequate coverage and staffing levels.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Workers Compensation
- Oversee workers’ compensation claims process and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Liaise with insurance providers and legal counsel as needed to address workers compensation issues.
- Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize workplace injuries and accidents.
- Facility and Maintenance
- Coordinate with onsite team and external vendors to ensure timely and efficient facility maintenance.
- Manage facility-related projects and renovations, including budgeting and scheduling.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and address any issues promptly.
- Payroll Processing Support
- Assist with payroll processing tasks, including data entry, verification, and reconciliation.
- Toast POS System and XtraChef Management
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the Toast POS / XtraChef system.
- Train staff on Toast POS/ XtraChef system functionalities and troubleshoot any technical issues.
- Utilize data analytics to optimize sales strategies and improve operational efficiency.

- Proven experience in restaurant management, with experience in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a focus on building positive relationships with guests and team members.
- Strong business acumen and financial management skills, with the ability to analyze financial data, develop budgets, and achieve financial targets.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of local food and beverage trends, culinary techniques, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in restaurant management software and G-Suite.
- ServSafe Food Safety Manager Certification.
