Job Details

Summary: The Breakfast Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, including overseeing staff, ensuring quality control, and providing excellent service to our guests. The Breakfast Supervisor is responsible for training and developing team members, supporting management administratively, and upholding safety and sanitation standards. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, train, and oversee the breakfast team, including servers, bussers, and other support staff.
  • Interact with guests, handle any complaints or issues that arise, and ensure that all guests have a positive dining experience.
  • Track inventory levels for breakfast items and place orders as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe breakfast environment ensure that all food safety protocols are followed, that the dining area is clean and well-maintained, and that staff adhere to proper hygiene practices.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding for new breakfast staff members and conduct orientation sessions to familiarize new hires with company policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Provide training on specific job duties, including floor setup, service standards, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure that tips are distributed accurately and in compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Maintain records of tips received and distributed, and address any discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Create and maintain a break schedule for breakfast staff to ensure adequate coverage during peak times.
  • Monitor staff breaks to ensure they are taken in accordance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Coordinate with other supervisors or managers to adjust staffing levels as needed to accommodate breaks without impacting service.
  • Address any scheduling conflicts or issues related to breaks in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct regular audits of employee time records to ensure accuracy and compliance with labor laws.
  • Review time punches, clock-in/out times, and break durations to identify any discrepancies or issues.
  • Report any instances of time theft or improper timekeeping with employees in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure that all sales transactions, including cash, credit card, and other payment methods, are accurately recorded in the restaurant's POS (Point of Sale) system.
  • Verify that all voids, discounts, and comps are properly authorized and documented according to company policies.
  • Reconcile cash drawers and prepare bank deposits, if required, following established cash-handling procedures.
  • Complete any required paperwork or administrative tasks, such as shift summaries or incident reports, as necessary.
  • Ensure that all equipment and workstations are properly cleaned and sanitized at the end of the shift, in preparation for the next service.
  • Collaborate with management to address any operational issues or concerns that arose during the breakfast service.
  • Communicate any notable events or feedback from guests or staff to management for review and follow-up.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by recognizing and appreciating the efforts of breakfast staff and fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings with breakfast staff to communicate important information and set expectations for the shift.

Must Haves:

  • Previous experience as a Supervisor role within the restaurant industry.
  • Knowledge of POS and proper cash/credit handling
  • Knowledge of food safety and health regulations
  • Customer-centric
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
