Floriole is expanding operating hours and we need to add an additional baker.
Job Description:
A Floriole Baker will work closely with the team of bakers, lead by the Head Baker, to execute production strategies and produce all product served in the cafe, including bread, savories, and pastries. Bakers will be expected to uphold the quality of Floriole food, maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, place and receive orders, comply with systems and policies, and creatively contribute to menu offerings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong skills in the following areas: baking/production technique, creative problem-solving, interpersonal communication, and a desire to learn and grow.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Understands & upholds Floriole's mission statement & guiding principles. Complies with all Floriole policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in all stations: Baker 1, Baker 2, Prep, Bread Mixer. Prepares all food items served in the cafe, including pastries, savories, breads, and laminates.
- Works quickly and efficiently to produce high quality product in a fast-paced environment.
- Follows production schedule and is compliant with daily/weekly checklists to complete all duties.
- Ensures kitchen & workspaces are neat, clean and sanitary. Adheres to sanitation regulations.
- Accurately orders, receives, labels, stores, and FIFOs product inventory.
- Contributes to quality control and takes necessary corrective steps to maintain product standards.
- Contributes to R+D. Works with the Head Baker to develop/update new and existing recipes as necessary.
- Available to assist with FOH & on-site/off-site events as needed.
- Participates as an active member of a team by receiving & contributing feedback in coaching sessions and during team gatherings and meetings.
- Communicates and coordinates with the FOH, Support, and Leadership teams as necessary to support the day-to-day operations of the bakery.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, go up and down stairs and work standing for long periods of time.
Job Details:
- Full-Time Position
- Weekends and Holidays are a must.
- Shifts are scheduled between 6am - 3pm (subject to change)
- $17.75/ hour +tips (tips range from $5-7/hour)
- Eligible for health insurance after 60 days (50% employer contribution).
- Up to 80 hours accrued PTO annually

- IL Food Handler Certificate required.
