Job Details

Growing, popular restaurant group is seeking a General Manager to oversee their in-house commissary based in Los Angeles. This location serves as a central production kitchen that only produces food for the group’s various restaurant locations. The GM will wear an assortment of hats to oversee the food processing facility, including but not limited to: managing food quality, brand expectations, inventory, product and labor cost controls, and overseeing 200+ employees. Candidates should have extensive experience managing large teams, and impeccable organizational and administrative skills in order to ensure consistent, smooth operations. Ideally looking for someone coming from more of a production background, and strong Spanish language skills or bi-lingual a huge plus. Commissary General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and positively impact all areas of the business including: sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation
  • Ensure quality and consistency of all food products
  • Ensure all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition
  • Maintain positive and cooperative relationships with all vendors and business partners
  • Foster opportunities for the team to learn and grow
  • Continually strive to educate and develop of staff as it relates to products and quality
  • Ensuring staffing needs are met while maintaining labor budget
  • Inventory management and ordering
  • Hiring staff and conducting interviews
  • Training new hires
  • Supporting with opening and closing procedures as needed
  • Creating a positive and fun working environment
  • Taking ownership of the business to increase sales and profitability
  • Set an example to the team by being present and leading in all facets of production
  • Anticipate the needs of the facility and act upon them
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements

Commissary General Manager Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years of progressive management experience in a food production kitchen, processing facility, large-scale commissary, or comparable operation
  • Bi-lingual or strong Spanish language skills a huge plus
  • Experience managing large teams of 200+ employees
  • High volume experience is highly preferred
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Proven track record in leading and motivating a team
  • Strong business and administrative acumen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
  • Develops relationships with staff across all levels of the organization

  • Experience in managing P&L, inventory, and labor cost
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
  • Food Safety Certification and basic knife skills
  • Able to stand/walk for long periods of time

Compensation Package Includes:

  • Base Salary in the $140-160k range DOE
