Job Details

Title: Operations Manager - Land and Sea Dept at Chicago Athletic Association

  • Cherry Circle Room - Milk Room - Events & Pop Ups

Reports to: General Manager, Beverage Director, Director of Operations

Position Objective: Their primary focus is the oversight, training, and execution of service standards as well as daily operations and the communication with the various outlets -- knowledge and passion for wine required. This position oversees hourly staff, sales and guest experience as an operations service floor manager. They will maintain the tone and culture as related to Land and Sea Dept. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*:

  • Service, service, service! Run shifts, lead, and direct the daily operations of the outlets 
  • Organize, run, and supervise smooth and efficient pre-shifts, daily opening, and closing shifts, ensuring exceptional guest and employee experience
  • Help manage all employees, including assisting in training, support, performance management, coaching and development 
  • Respond immediately and effectively to guest and employee needs and feedback
  • Use tact and good judgment when dealing with challenges pertaining to guests, vendors, and employees, and respond with patience and courtesy
  • Serve as a point of contact for private and semi-private events hosts & execution
  • Liaison between hotel property management and staff as needed
  • Review and maintain par levels of supplies and equipment
  • Assist GM & Bev. Dir. in managing costs, driving sales, and growing the business in support of financial goals and objectives
  • Perform regular and ad hoc inventories of wine, beverage, and restaurant supplies and track high cost items; place wine, beverage, and restaurant supply orders; and accept and inspect deliveries as needed
  • Work a variety of days and shifts (including early morning, late nights, weekends, and holidays) as needed
  • Maintain a safe and enjoyable work environment

*Requirements & certifications:

  • Open availability - days / nights / weekends / holidays, as needed
  • Willingness to collaborate within a high volume, guest-forward environment, with chef-driven concepts
  • Food Manager

  • Alcohol Server Training

*May perform other duties as they are assigned

*Must be able to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods of time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($60,000.00 - $65,000.00)
